The city of Bangkok is not well known for their perfect system of street and builing adresses. Most time a hotel or location will only give you the adress of the small street where they are located, but there will be no number of the building or something like that.
Tip: use Googe Maps to check, if the driver is on the right way in your alley or not (if the hotel or venue is listet in Google Maps)
But on the other side it is sometimes easy to know the area where you want to go, because very often there is a big road (in our sample here it is the Sukhumvit Road) and than you have small streets cross them from left to right. As you can see on the map, the small street most time named like the big one, but added a "Soi" and a number, so you know Sukhumvit Soi 15 is crossing the Sukhumvit Road. There is also a system, that on the one side all will have even numbers, on the other side all will have odd numbers. So when you are in Sukhumvit Soi 15, you know you have to walk up or down Sukhumvit Road to get to Sukhumvit Soi 13 or 17. If you search for Sukhumvit 14, you know you have to cross the Sukhumvit Road.
